SCP-173, or "The Sculpture" is a euclid class SCP and the primary antagonist of the Light Containment Zone in SCP: Containment Breach Unity Edition.

Description

SCP-173 is a concrete statue of unknown origin measuring 2.0 meters tall and weighing approximately 468 kg. The statue is vaguely humanoid in shape, although improperly proportioned. Traces of Krylon brand spray paint on the statue's upper body, resembling a face. Chemical analysis of the concrete shows no discernible abnormalities. X-ray imaging of the objects body reveals the presence of steel rebar and a [DATA REDACTED].

When the statue is left unobserved and line of sight is broken by a human conscious being, the statue becomes animate, moving at speeds documented between 60 and 90 km/h. The mechanism for its locomotion is not known. As blinking breaks visual contact, personnel assigned to enter its containment chamber are instructed to alert one another before blinking.

SCP-173 displays awareness of its environment, reacting to changes and responding to stimuli when it is free to move. It is unknown if SCP-173 is intelligent or sapient. However, the statue is extremely hostile and will attempt to kill any human that enters its containment chamber if left unobserved. It has been observed to attack non-humans and animate objects. The most common methods of attack are by snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation. Alternative methods have been observed. SCP-173 doesn’t seem to target unconscious or incapacitated individuals, but the reasons for this are unknown at this time. SCP-173 frequently moves around its containment chamber when left unobserved. This behavior is considered normal, and any changes should be reported to the acting HMCL supervisor on duty. Further experimentation into its behavior is ongoing.

The reddish brown substance on the floor is a combination of feces and blood originating from the statue. The specific origin of these materials is unknown. Blood testing confirms the blood is human, type O Negative. Further test results are inconclusive. The containment chamber must be cleaned on a biweekly basis.

In-game

SCP-173 is the primary antagonist of the Light Containment Zone. It will attempt to pursue and kill the player via snapping the player's neck. However, SCP-173 cannot move while it is observed. This means that SCP-173 can only move if the player is currently blinking, turned away, or the player's line of sight to SCP-173 is obscured by a wall or other object. SCP-173 will not begin to chase the player until the player has seen SCP-173, at which point the blink meter will appear and SCP-173 will give chase. SCP-173 can be avoided by getting a closed door between it and the player, as this will prevent SCP-173 from reaching the player as it cannot open doors. Should SCP-173 catch the player, the player will be killed instantly and the game will end.

Currently, SCP-173 spawns randomly in several set locations. This location is not necessarily determined by the player's position. This may change in the future. SCP-173 will spawn regardless of the location or current enemies in the area, leading to potentially deadly situations should another SCP or even two other SCPs be pursuing the player when SCP-173 arrives. However, SCP-173 cannot spawn in safe rooms such as SCP-1762's containment chamber or the Patron Offices.

SCP-173 does not spawn in its containment cell at the beginning of the game. This is intentional, as SCP-173's whereabouts will be explained in an intro sequence yet to come.
