SCP-106, or "The Old Man" is a keter class SCP and a prominent antagonist of SCP: Unity. It was added in version 0.5.0. == Description == SCP-106 appears to be an elderly humanoid, with a general appearance of advanced decomposition. This appearance may vary, but the “rotting” quality is observed in all forms. SCP-106 is not exceptionally agile and will remain motionless for days at a time, waiting for prey. SCP-106 is also capable of scaling any vertical surface and can remain suspended upside down indefinitely. When attacking, SCP-106 will attempt to incapacitate prey by damaging major organs, muscle groups, or tendons, then pull disabled prey into its pocket dimension. SCP-106 appears to prefer human prey items in the 10-25 years of age bracket. SCP-106 causes a “corrosion” effect in all solid matter it touches, engaging a physical breakdown in materials several seconds after contact. This is observed as rusting, rotting, and cracking of materials, and the creation of a black, mucus-like substance similar to the material coating SCP-106. This effect is particularly detrimental to living tissues and is assumed to be a “pre-digestion” action. Corrosion continues for six hours after contact, after which the effect appears to “burn out”. SCP-106 is capable of passing through solid matter, leaving behind a large patch of its corrosive mucus. SCP-106 is able to “vanish” inside solid matter, entering what is assumed to be a form of “pocket dimension”. SCP-106 is then able to exit this dimension from any point connected to the initial entry point (examples: “entering” the inner wall of a room, and “exiting” the outer wall. Entering a wall, and exiting from the ceiling). It is unknown if this is the point of origin for SCP-106 or a simple “lair” created by SCP-106. == In-game == SCP-106 is the primary antagonist of SCP: Unity. Throughout the duration of the game, he will periodically appear, either through a nearby wall or through the floor, and begin to pursue the player at a pace slower than the player's. However, if the player gets too far ahead of SCP-106, he will teleport closer to them, sometimes next to them and sometimes in front of them. If possible, he will attempt to teleport into the player's path as an ambush tactic, usually emerging from the side of a wall next to the location they are moving towards or out of the ground in front of them. As SCP-106 moves, he will leave a trail of slowing and damaging corrosive goo behind him, making it unwise to attempt to run past 106 rather than away. Occasionally, SCP-106 will bend down before sending a line of corrosive goo towards the player. This goo differs from the type left behind SCP-106 in the presence of a smoking cloud above the goo and improved slowing properties, nearly slowing the player to a standstill and almost guaranteeing a successful attack by SCP-106. Should SCP-106 catch the player, they will receive about 25 damage. Being this close to SCP-106 will also result in further damage due to the corrosive pools forming below. This process continues until SCP-106 despawns, is forced to leave by a tesla gate or a safe room, or the player dies. If the player attempts to avoid SCP-106 by getting them stuck, SCP-106 will teleport to the player and kill them instantly. SCP-106 currently has two spawn triggers outside of the random timer. SCP-106 will spawn when the Security Admin Passcode is acquired in Secure Storage SL3-A and when the Security Office keycard is acquired in the Skyroom Cafeteria/Lounge. Currently, SCP-106 does not have a containment chamber. However, in the future he will have a containment chamber located in the Super Heavy Containment Zone. It is unknown if SCP-106 will be able to be re-contained as of now. == Trivia == * While in SCP: Containment Breach SCP-106 served as a common threat, in SCP: Unity he will not be such a common encounter, however, it will remain an impactful one due to him being one of the only SCPs capable of going to every zone. * Currently, SCP-106s most iconic ability, control over his pocket dimension, is not yet implemented. However it is planned for the future at an as of yet unknown date. * SCP-106 was one of the three SCPs in the game prior to update 0.5.5, alongside SCP-173 and SCP-1499.
