The Protagonist (main character, player, etc.) of SCP: Unity is currently mostly unknown, and will likely become more fleshed out as the story is implemented.
Employment
The Protagonist is a D-Class personnel, as indicated by the orange D-Class jumpsuit seen in the game's opening. The fact that the Player spawns in the game just outside SCP-173's containment chamber suggests that he is currently assigned to work on SCP-173.
History
Very little is known about the history of the Protagonist, except for the fact that his birthday aligns with the date of the containment breach as indicated by SCP-983's reaction to the Protagonist. This may or may not change, and will likely be based on the relevance of the Protagonist's history for the story as it is implemented.
In-game
The Protagonist (or Player) begins the game by waking up in the Light Containment Zone just outside of SCP-173's containment cell. From then, the Player makes all the decisions for the Protagonist, including but not limited to: where to go, what to do, and which SCP's to interact with.
Trivia
- With the addition of the FPS arms, it seems apparent that the Protagonist is male, based solely on the structure of the arms. They also suggest that he is Caucasian.
- SCP-983 is activated if the player approaches, suggesting that the date of the containment breach is the Protagonist's birthday.
- When SCP-983 is singing "Happy Birthday", it happens to malfunction at the very moment where a name is supposed to be mentioned, adding more mystery to the Protagonist's name.
- The fact that the player can safely ingest SCP-1176-1 indicates that the Protagonist has an AB+ blood type.
